Gender equality, diversity, and compatibility of family and career

Equal Opportunity in TRR 391

Enhancing gender equality and diversity and facilitating a family-friendly working environment are central concerns of TRR 391. We implement a variety of measures to achieve gender distribution parity, promote the compatibility of family and career, and support diversity in all possible aspects.
Dedicated funding is provided specifically for these purposes. It is allocated by the Equal Opportunity Advisory Board, consisting of the STAIRS Manager of TRR 391 and two early career researchers.

Our Mission

TRR 391 strives to promote the individual career development of early researchers, to incorporate measures for a better compatibility of family and career, and to enhance diversity through adequate support. The Equal Opportunity Advisory Board is taking a number of steps to achieve these goals as quickly as possible. Our short-term goals include:

  • Provide an FAQ on how to make use of childcare services with working procedures for the universities of the UA Ruhr.
  • Organize dedicated workshops and talks on unconscious bias, intercultural communication, and how to deal with disabilities and impairments.
  • Increase reach by sharing freely available educational resources.
