Funding of Childcare Costs
As a measure to promote compatability of family and career, the DFG provides TRR391 researchers with the opportunity to cover short-term childcare costs during times when childcare obligations coincide with project work.
General conditions:
- Project work is work that is in direct connection with the work funded by the DFG (e.g. participation at conferences, workshops, project-related meetings, or other project work)
- Childcare is necessary and cannot be organized in another way (e.g. work falls outside of regular working hours of the usual childcare facility, or childcare facility temporarily reduces opening hours due to staff shortage)
- For children up to 14 years of age (for disabled children up to 25 years of age)
- Short-term childcare: not planned or forseeable, duration of up to one week
- Original invoice from private caregiver (babysitter) must be presented. For your convenience, we've prepared an invoice template that your may forward to your babysitter. Minimum hourly wage applies; for two or more children looked after simulaneously, hourly wage is increased by 50%
- Costs of up to 600 EUR per TRR researcher per year can be covered
